Beta testing is the practice of users trying out a product within a production environment before a general release. The objective is to uncover any bugs or issues.

• Beta tests can either be open, allowing anyone to use the product & give feedback, or closed, limited to a specific set of users.
• Beta testers are real users conducting testing a product to help to uncover bugs and provide feedback about the product. Nothing can truly simulate real users, therefore releasing the product to a segment of users yields more accurate results.
