Data startup Astronomer and host Viraj Parekh were kind enough to welcome attendees to their brand new office for the event.
Despite holiday party season being in full swing with New York’s Santacon only days away, independent data science and engineering professionals as well as folks from Google, BNY Mellon and other industry leaders made time to attend in-person.
NYC Data Council chapter organizer Keira Zhou from Spotify emceed the event. Statsig’s Vineeth Madhusudanan presented a half hour talk on Data Infrastructure for Product Experimentation with lively Q&A. Afterwards, Astronomer’s Viraj Parekh gave a walkthrough and live demo of Apache Airflow with additional questions and engagement from the audience. Folks had time to network before and after the expert talks over hot slices from Joe’s Pizza on Broadway, washed down with cans of startup staple La Croix and cold beer from Founder’s Brewing.
This was an in-person event focused on face-to-face interaction so there weren’t any livestreams or videos. In an attempt to capture the energy and knowledge in the room, we snapped a dozen photos of the speakers in action and lively networking conversations.
Enjoy the pictures and a big shoutout to everyone who attended! We'll see you again soon in the new year.
